The Wooden Spoon was founded 5 years ago when I couldn’t find any individual puddings for my Granddad for Christmas. They all seemed to be either low quality and mass produced or large family sizes that needed to go in the oven. I set about making delicious individual portion pots of puddings that were already baked with sauce on them that could be microwaved in a minute or heated through in an oven.
I now sell 9 different varieties of puddings from sticky toffee to autumn pudding (apple and plum with a caramel and rum sauce). All my puddings use traditional recipes with a modern twist bringing you a product range with fantastic flavour and luxurious feel. We use real butter and local ingredients where possible to ensure the final product is of the highest quality and have gluten free options for people with intolerances.
Along the way I also developed a range of vegetarian savory bakes focusing on the biggest flavour without the meat. Although not vegetarian myself I eat a lot of non meat dishes and felt these really weren’t represented. I now sell frittata’s, mini pizzas, tarts, stuffed peppers, vegan rolls and lots more and have plenty of gluten free, dairy free and vegan options, everything is freshly baked and all filled with flavour .
